'Bangalore's highly sought after Residential Locality'-HSR Layout
HSR Layout is a residential layout developed by B.D.A (Bangalore Development Authority) in 1984.
But the actual development started only after 2000, from then the place has never seen backwards. HSR Layout is an acronym of Hosur Road Sarjapur Layout as this is spread right in between Hosur Road and Sarjapur Road in Bangalore South, adjoining Koramangala and BTM Layout.
HSR Layout is further divided into 7 blocks called as 7 Sectors, among these Sector 1 is the largest and 6th is the smallest sector. This is one of the Largest Layouts in Bangalore. The best thing about HSR Layout is its Broad Roads. And beside broad roads there are a number of Parks. The area of HSR Layout is around 1500 acres.
Officially HSR Layout has been renamed as Kengal Hanumanthaiah layout, but this name is only used by BDA and BBMP whenever they call for site auctions and work tenders, majority of general public are unaware of this name. It is named after Shri.Kengal Hanumanthaiah, who was the second Chief Minister of the Mysore State (now Karnataka) between 1952-1956, He was the man behind the building “Vidhana Soudha” -Bangalore's Seat of Power.
Today HSR Layout is the fastest developing area of Bangalore, with lot of commercial establishments coming here and adding every month many new amenities.(These are mainly shopping markets, Schools, Hospitals, Banks).
